The following is a summary of the parking guidelines for our community based upon the HOA restrictive covenants and city ordinances.
Cars and light trucks may be parked in garages, on driveways, or on the streets (in accordance with city ordinances regarding not blocking mailboxes, fire hydrants, and driveways). Vehicles may not block the sidewalk. They may not be parked in the yard, except temporarily for unloading, washing, and maintenance. Vehicles must be parked parallel in the driveway, not perpendicular to the street. Commercial trucks, such as tow trucks, glass trucks, etc., must be parked in a garage. They may not be parked in driveways, and city ordinances do not allow them to be parked on the streets.
Boats and trailers must be parked in a garage if kept on the premises. Small unility trailers may be parked on the street if they are within the city ordinances.
The BOD will enforce HOA covenants on private property, sidewalks, and in the common areas of the community. The City of Wilmington owns our streets, and they hold jurisdiction over them. City ordinances apply to the streets; the HOA restrictive covenants do not.
The HOA will impose a $100.00 a day fine for violations after the third warning. Remember, each homeowner is responsible for the parking of guests and visitors.
