In Memory of Howard Stampley

Hello VPHOA homeowners 

We had some very sad news during the Christmas Holidays. Our past treasurer for two years, Howard Stampley, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He served our community for two years while battling cancer and never showed the pain he was going through. His smile and positive approach to life, kept the HOA pushing. It was an honor and a joy to have him in our lives.

His family is doing fine and even though his death came during a time of celebration, they are celebrating his life with them and our community should do so as well.

Please keep Howard’s family in your prayers as they go through this very difficult time. Attached is the information regarding services and visitation if you would like to attend.

Dear family and friends,

As some of you probably already know and some may not Daddy passed away last evening after a very long struggle with cancer. While it is a very sad time for all of us we are glad that he is a peace and struggling no more. Thank you to everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers and kind words and especially your love.

Services are as follows: Visitation at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home 7-9PM Monday evening Dec. 27th. Service 11:00AM Tuesday morning Dec. 28th. at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Kenwood Avenue here in Wilmington. All are welcome to join in the celebration of our Father's life.

New Feature: LOST & FOUND

In the right sidebar, I have added a new feature where you can report anything lost or found.  Has your dog or cat run away?  Lost an item during your walks around the neighborhood.  Or have you found any of these and want to return them to their owner?  To report any lost and found, just call your blog master at 910-233-4710 or email me at david@ladyslippercove.com.  I will promptly add the item in the LOST & FOUND section.  Please also notify me when you have resolved the situation, so I can remove it from the list.  For this section to work efficiently, everyone in the neighborhood must check the blog frequently.  When you have lost or found something, state what it is, your address, and your phone number.

Help Save The Environment - Stop Unwanted Catalogs

Are you eager to do your part in saving our environment? Here is a way to save trees, reducing a lot of recycling, and reduce the demand on the postal service.

Catalog Choice is an easy way for you to opt out from receiving unwanted catalogs, flyers, etc. I have been a member for a couple of years now and this service really does work. Just set up a FREE account and everytime you get an unwanted catalog, just enter the two numbers usually highlighted in blue or yellow beside your address. The catalogs will stop.
