BLOCKED MAILBOXES

Bobby, our regular mailman, is concerned about the number of blocked mailboxes by cars.  The post office does NOT require him to deliver the mail when the mailbox is blocked by a vehicle; however, he often does out of the goodness of his heart, but the substitute mailmen rarely do.  Bobby has a real problem especially during soccer season in the afternoons and Saturdays, as vehicles frequently do block the mailboxes on Picadilly and neighboring houses along Abbington.

Therefore, we are asking that anyone who sees that their or a neighbor's mailbox is blocked by a vehicle to call the Wilmington Police non-emergency number: 910-452-6120.  Ask that the vehicle be ticketed, because we want to let the violators know that we will not tolerate their inconsiderate behavior.  Perhaps word-of-mouth communication of those involved will help to correct the problem.
